Cergyland

This film focuses on a French city: Cergy. Born from the land in 1969, this city was created to solve the social and ecological issues of the capital, Paris, located 30 km away. It is renowned as the cinematic city of Éric Rohmer, the architectural city of Dani Karavan, and the literary city of Annie Ernaux. At the same time, it is haunted by a reputation for poverty, danger, and immigration. This film was made a generation after the birth of this new city, juxtaposing its original models with its current reality.
